Dreaming 04:06
I’ve been dreaming, along these lines Kicking and screaming, out of my mind Been mislead-ed, all this time Nothing I had, was really mine Disappointed, No early warning Realignment, I think I’m falling I’m not dreaming anymore I can’t feel like I did before To the brightest star in the sky I’ll pray Brighten up my life today Disappointed, No early warning Realignment, I think I’m falling Bang my head on the wall again Scream at ghosts ah but they’re still dead I wonder “Who is right? What goes wrong when I close my eyes?” I’m not dreaming, I'm not, I'm not…

Sad 04:22
Time has come, to block out the sun With my hands, with my plans Oh if you were, oh if you were Oh if you were “real” So untrue, I believed in you Cut my losses, count my forces Oh if you were, oh if you were Oh if you were “real” It feels better when I’m sad Don’t you like me, like me when I’m sad You know it feels better when I’m sad Don’t you want me, don’t you need me there Time has come, to block out the sun With my hands, with my plans Oh if you were, oh if you were Oh if you were “real” It feels better when I’m sad Don’t you like me, like me when I’m sad You know it feels better when I’m sad Don’t you want me, don’t you need me there It feels better when I’m sad Don’t you like me, like me when I’m sad You know it feels better when I’m sad Don’t you want me, don’t you need me there

Superhero 04:06
It’s all about intention, never about regret It’s all about your memories, what you don’t forget I wasn’t tryin’, tryin’ to mess with your head I do what’s best for me, not what’s all in It’s never what you mention, just what you think’ll fit best Like a politician, you keep it in your mask I wasn’t tryin’, tryin’ to fuck with your head I did what’s best, not what fits in Superhero, nothing like I am Only power, what I say and what I am I’m not stronger than the average man Superhero, nothing like I am It’s all about intention, never about regret It’s all about your memories, what you don’t forget I wasn’t tryin’, tryin’ to mess with your head I do what’s best for me, not what’s all in Superhero, nothing like I am Only power, what I say and what I am I’m not stronger than the average man Superhero, nothing like I am Superhero, nothing like I am Only power, what I say and what I am I can't fly or read what's in your head Superhero, nothing like I am
4.
Drown 04:35
Everything spins around I reach out so I won’t drown I feel hollow I feel hollow I feel hollow Don’t let me, drown
5.
I felt so bad when you told me All you been doing is crying A small voice inside, says guilty No one's there, even though I'm trying Ah, oh, rest your head Close your eyes, give me your hand I'm there for you, I'm here for you Just tell me what you need Even Everything I'm there for you, I'm here for you Just tell me what you need Even Everything Sometimes problems come back again It's worse alone, don't fear you're not, I'll listen I throw this out, you can hold onto me A calm in a storm may be what you're missing Ah, oh, rest your head Close your eyes, give me your hand I'm there for you, I'm here for you Just tell me what you need Even Everything I'm there for you, I'm here for you Just tell me what you need Even Everything Even Everything, hold onto me Even Everything I'm there for you, I'm here for you Just tell me what you need Even Everything I'm there for you, I'm here for you Just tell me what you need Even Everything

I was the last one, to look in your eyes I should have known, I should have tried What would it have cost me? The difference, it could have made? Much too late, now, much too late Don’t be strong, I’m begging you Don’t be strong, please, please Don’t be strong When was the last time, I looked in their eyes Held their hands, gave them my mind What would it cost me? The difference, it could make Not too late, now, not too late Don’t be strong, I’m begging you Don’t be strong, please, please Don’t be strong

about

This first release from Plug features 6 songs written by singer/guitar player, Fred Galpern. In addition to the band, many other musicians contributed. Current bass player, Mark Stone was unavailable for recording so we were thrilled to have John Simpson stand in on bass for the entire EP.

At the time of recording, Karen Orsi had not yet joined Plug, so we were still a three-piece band. To round out the sound we invited several guests to contribute to the songs. Jeff Robbins (123 Astronaut, Orbit) plays guitar on Drown. Ryan Lesser (Megasus, Laurels) plays the guitar solo on Dreaming. Paul "Pip" Everett (Hope Anchor) sings background vocals on Don't Be Strong.

Finally, a notable contribution to Block Out The Sun came from recently passed away Seattle singer/songwriter Shawn Smith. He contributed vocals to Even Everything, a heartfelt ballad that needed that special something only Shawn could provide. Shawn was well-known for his solo records, and also the music he made with Brad, Pigeonhed and Satchel.

Block Out The Sun was recorded by Kraig Jordan at Plan of a Boy studio, and was mastered by Tom Buckland.
